Seattle's Convention & Visitors Bureau is a non-profit economic development agency responsible for competitively marketing Seattle as a destination for meeting and convention groups and leisure travelers. The bureau is a member-based organization with more than 1,100 affiliated businesses throughout the region.

Current SCVB Job Openings:
MARKETING COORDINATOR
Provides assistance to Membership Services and Cultural Tourism departments.
Essential job functions:
Assists Membership Services Manager with duties to include:
- Enters and maintains member files and database
- Processes new members and mails out new member packets
- Prepares membership reports, as needed, for the SCVB Membership Director, CFO, President and Board of Directors
- Maintains inventory of membership sales materials
- Manages bulk e-mailings and postal mailings to members
- Provides sales support for Membership Director, including sponsorship sales support & servicing
- Creates and mails invoices and processes payments
- Retention and collection responsibility for selected accounts
- Prepares member listing output for SCVB publications and proofs listings prior to publishing
- Assists in planning and managing membership events
Assists Cultural Tourism Director with duties to include:
- Participates in the planning, developing and coordinating of tourism promotion activities as they relate to cultural and heritage attractions
- Serves as department liaison to maintain partnerships with regional cultural and heritage attractions and the hospitality community
- Helps develop creative and effective cooperative marketing programs that leverage available budgetary resources
- Gathers, maintains and interprets cultural/tourism market research to further develop programs and identify market opportunities
- Maintains advance event calendars for performances, festivals, exhibitions and other significant cultural events for visitors, hospitality community, travel trade and colleagues
- Advises arts and heritage marketing professionals on how to work with the visitor market and successfully partner with the SCVB
- Maximizes opportunities for contributions and grants from cultural funding agencies
- Writes and edits cultural content for Bureau publications, website and marketing materials
Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook programs
- Strong verbal and written communication aptitude
- Exceptional customer service skills, both on the phone and face-to-face
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external groups
- Demonstrated creativity, initiative, and self-motivation
- Highly organized with an eye for detail
- Ability to learn new systems quickly
- Proven ability to work independently while effectively prioritizing and multi-tasking.
- Significant knowledge base of community’s arts and cultural resources preferred
- Previous experience with databases helpful

WORKING HOURS
Monday through Friday, 8:30-5:00, additional hours as required
